IMG_0913Cheryl A. Duffy, M.D., FAAP

Dr. Cheryl Duffy is a board certified pediatrician that has been serving the valley and beyond since 1992.    She currently is Chief of Pediatrics at Sharon Regional Hospital where she also sits on the Advisory Board of Directors.  She has active privileges at Sharon Regional Hospital, UPMC Horizon and Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC.  She received her undergraduate degree from Youngstown State University and received her medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED).  She completed her residency at Case Western Reserve University Rainbow Babies and Children’s hospital.  The mother of twins, Dr. Duffy enjoys riding her horses and Cleveland Indians Baseball.   She is a professional member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a fellow of the American Board of Pediatrics.  “I am very blessed to do a job I love so much!  Thank you for sharing your beautiful babies with me!”


Joseph R. Frank, M.D., FAAP

Dr. Joseph Frank is a board certified pediatrician that has been serving the area since 2007.  The father of 2 daughters, Dr. Frank enjoys golf and anything Penn State.  As well as seeing patients here at Kid’s Way Pediatrics, he is also the Department Head of Pediatrics at UPMC Horizon Hospital.  He has active privileges at Sharon Regional Hospital as well as UPMC Horizon Hospital.  Dr. Frank received his undergraduate degree from The Pennsylvania State University and his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED).  He completed his residency at Case Western University Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital.  He is a professional member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a fellow of the American board of Pediatrics.  “I consider it a great privilege to partner in the care and well-being of your child, and look forward to creating lasting relationships with my patients.”


Kristie L. Shumaker, PA-C

Kristie Shumaker is a certified Physician Assistant that has been serving our area since 2004. The mother of both a young son and daughter, Kristie enjoys running and yoga. She received her bachelor’s degree from Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio, and she received her master’s degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.

Samantha Johnson, PA-C

Samantha Johnston is the newest member of our team. We first met Samantha when she did her clinical rotation here at Kid’s Way. Now, she is a certified Physician Assistant and has been with our practice since 2011. She enjoys being outdoors, kayaking, trying new recipes, and spending time with her family. She was awarded both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania. She is also a professional member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
